The literary festival in the village of Haikola devoted to the national writer of Karelia Ortjo Stepanov (the second Sunday of July),
The Jushkozero public merrymaking country festival (the forth Saturday of August),
Marja-makovein päivä feast in the village of Voinitsa (the first Sunday of August),
The epos Kalevala birthday (28th of February),
The Kalevala marathon devoted to Elias Lönnrot (the person who collected the runes of the Kalevala epic poem) (February – April),
The gifts of nature and hunting and fishing trophies exhibitions,
The regional trade-exhibition of local craftsmen s works (February).
Every year in May an opening night takes place on the stage of the Kalevala National Theatre.
